Maggie Robinson

Maggie’s enduring love of the countryside stems from a very early age as she grew up in the beautiful landscape of the North Yorkshire Moors in a large musical and artistic family. She eventually moved south to train as a teacher and graduated with an Education degree from London University.

Having followed a career in teaching and then setting up her own business for 20 years in the retail fashion industry she has throughout all this time also pursued a lifetime interest in painting and with her husband Brian, has run her own teaching studio, and taught artists of mixed abilities from all over the world on painting holidays both in the UK and Europe.

In recent years, having returned to the North, she has dedicated her time to developing her own artistic voice and as a former musician her ‘Music of the landscape’ series is now well established throughout the area and beyond. She seeks to interpret the melodious, harmonious and rhythmic qualities that abound in the landscape through her individual use of colour and expressive marks.

Living now in Sheffield she has easy access to some of England’s most beautiful countryside with the Peak District being on her doorstep and the Lake District and North Yorkshire Moors being an easy drive away – inspiration is readily available!

As a member of Peak District Artisans she has developed a high profile in both South Yorkshire and Derbyshire. She has exhibited in the Mall Galleries in London with the Society of Women Artists for many years and has sold her work in many areas of the UK and continental Europe.
