Maggie Robinson ‘Interpreting the landscape’
27 Sep @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm£80
Interpreting the landscape:
It is so easy and tempting to get bogged down ‘recording’ what we have seen, sketched or photographed when out and about in the landscape – there is a natural satisfaction for all of us in making a painting that says ‘this is how it was’.
However, as artists, we are constantly seeking to take our viewer beyond what was actually there to a whole new interpretation that is our own unique expression about that place – to ‘invite the viewer into our world’. We shall therefore explore ways in which we can add to or take away from the images we work from to move towards a more expressive and personal interpretation.
Your usual art materials if you have them plus paper, board or canvas for a main painting and some charcoal. A photograph or sketch of a landscape that you relate to.
The cost includes lunches and refreshments. To make a booking for any of these workshops, please contact us at 01335 347425 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
