‘An Explosion of Colour’ Newsletter 2018

Our spring collection of work is an ‘Explosion of Colour’ with the latest ceramic paintings of Zoë Marsh, atmospheric ‘Street Scenes’ by Ruth Gray and vivid landscapes and still-lifes by Colin Halliday.

Zoë is the winner of the Ashbourne Festival Art prize for 2017 and her ceramic landscapes and patterned paintings are pure magic and quite extraordinary.
Ruth’s work entices us to explore the beautiful towns and villages of the Peak District which she portrays masterfully in her exquisite paintings of various local street scenes.Ruth is also doing a series of workshops at the gallery this year entitled ‘Street Scenes Simplified’ – an opportunity to create a painting of your own favourite local street.
Colin didn’t spare any paint in his robust portrayal of dramatic landscapes and vibrant still-lifes in oil. His passion for his art is clear in the exuberant and dynamic way he applies paint to his chosen topic.

Maggie Robinson’s exceptional solo exhibition ‘A touch of realism’ can still be seen until 14th April, make sure you don’t miss out.

For more about the artists and their work, please go to the artist page on our website.
