“Common Ground”, the Solo Exhibition by Kerri Pratt, will continue until 2nd July. Kerri is the 2014/2015 winner of the Jonathan Vickers Fine Art Award, a biennial award given to a rising artist to produce work inspired by the Derbyshire landscape, heritage and people. The exhibition will be open to view throughout the Ashbourne Festival period. Kerri creates unexpected architectural landscapes that engage and intrigue. Inspired by travel or encounters with new places, Kerri’s paintings have reference to curious spaces in man-made, industrial and urban landscapes. The artist uses personal childhood memories of growing up in an ex-mining town, capturing an essence of a past era and connecting its significance with the present, ever changing landscape.
New work by popular artist Catriona Hall and photographer Valerie Daling are also on display at the Gallery. Catriona is an old favourite at the gallery with her quirky characters painted in vibrant autumn colours. Valerie is an accomplished photographer who manages to capture the essence of the Derby landscape with her atmospheric photos.
